Movie description:
Eight-year-old Zander is your typical quiet and shy third-grader, but his dad Keith works too much to pick him up from school each day. He falls in love with his male third-grade teacher, Mr. Wiley, but can’t seem to catch his eye in class. When Keith gets the birthday gift of a gold-plated watch passed down in the family, Zander steals it to profess his love. When he’s heartbroken, Keith gives Zander the watch and promises, »When the big hand gets to here, you’ll feel better«. The next afternoon at school, Keith picks up Zander and finally hears, »I love you« from him.
Zander Cooley is an 8-year-old boy who is seriously the cutest kid you’ll ever meet. He’s the »good kid« that never gets in trouble at home or at school. We find out that Zander has an innocent crush on his third-grade teacher, Mr. Wiley. Desperate to get Mr. Wiley’s attention and spend some alone time with him, Zander starts to rebel and act like a »bad kid« in class. But, his attempts are constantly foiled. Worried Zander is going to lose Mr. Wiley to another woman, Zander steals his father’s watch and finally gets his moment alone to profess his love to Mr. Wiley and gives the watch to him as a gift. Alarmed about the act of theft, Mr. Wiley lets Zander down and informs his parents, destroying all of the young boy’s hopes and dreams. Then, a heart-broken Zander is consoled by his father who gives the watch to his son to show him what true love is and begin to heal his broken broken heart ... with time.
